R.A.N Tip of The Week by Claudette Gyles

You’ve heard it before, it's nothing new, moisture is everything when it comes to natural hair health. Still, many naturals struggle with keeping their curls, kinks and coils well moisturized. Claudette Gyles believe to moisturize your hair effectively, it is best done in layers. What does she mean? It starts at the shampoo bowl with sulfate-free moisturizing shampoo. Moisture can not penetrate the cuticle (outer layer strand) of your hair if the hair is dirty and full of build-up. Next apply a moisturizing conditioner to reach the cortex (inner layer strand). Then a moisturizing leave-in conditioner to seal in the moisture. This layered process is done every two weeks depending on your daily routine or as often as you feel your hair is in need of moisturizing for nourished, revitalized and manageable natural hair. It is just that simple!
