We have so much to be thankful for, beginning with having the incredible support of our followers and patriotism. You have been an engaging, thoughtful and selfless community inspired by the Roc-A-Natural movement and I personally am humbly grateful. The Roc-A-Natural mission is to emphasize the beauty of natural hair, build self-esteem and educate a diverse audience on the importance of proper nutrition and to illuminate your beauty from the inside out, for a holistic new you.
As we sit down with our love ones and dear friends, to give thanks and enjoy a delicious feast, lets remember that this is also the "National Day of Mourning" for Native Americans. They will also be gathering at Plymouth, Massachusetts today to give thanks, their tradition that was preformed to celebrate a successful harvest. This was done even before they invited the Pilgrims to share in their 'Bountiful Harvest". Later, this tradition became a National Day of Mourning in which to highlight the ways they suffered at the hands of the settlers and how they were nearly wiped out from warfare and disease. They also spend this day discussing issues that affect the Native American community.
Our family too will be giving thanks for our bountiful blessings and educating the children as to true purpose of a Thanksgiving gathering. At this time, I would like to give thanks to my family and friends for their amazing support and love. It is the fuel the keeps me grounded and able to continue to provide you with resources to educate, encourage and inspire you to Roc-A-Natural and live in a natural and healthy state of mind.
